Some Helpful Info For A New Player

Original article written by Mr. Lord Rich posted 11 years 0 weeks ago

Hello Simhorseracing.com Community,

I am writing this article in hopes that I can help out a new player or two by sharing my experience so far and providing some of the knowledge I have picked up along the way.

Starting off with a little about myself, I first joined the racing community on 04-01-13. I stumbled across this website when searching through Google, read a little about it and was immediately hooked. I instantly joined and spent about 4 hours online the first night my account was activated.

The first horse I owned was the self created horse that you breed upon account creation. I had no clue as to what I was doing. The first night my 3 year old colt came into this world, I named him, jogged him, galloped him, schooled the gate and schooled the paddock. The 2nd night I jogged him again. I then didn't do much with him until his first race on 04-09-13 where he finished 3rd out of 4 horses with a speed figure of 51. I am surprised he finished with a figure that high knowing everything I put him through the 1st night of his existence.

Since my first night, I have found through reading various articles and the forums that it is not recommended that you train your horses more than once per race week. It is also not recommended to race your horses every week. Your horses need a minimum of one to two weeks rest between races to make sure they are in top racing form. Make sure you have done all your training before you start racing your horses as training them between races can cause them to be tired for the race day. Also avoid too much shipping between races as this has the same tiring effect.

I highly suggest that you upgrade your account to "SIMperior" status. There are so many benefits gained by doing this it's incredible. You can do the 1 week trial for 2000 game points which is only 2 dollars. I started out by doing the 1 week trial and knew right away I would be continuing my subscription. I can't imagine playing this "Sim" without it. Some of the valuable benefits I have found with "SIMperior" was being able to see the speed figures after each race and the "auto ship" feature you can set up for your barn. The speed figure, it is key to determining if your horse is racing the right types of races. The "auto-ship" feature is amazing as you as it removes the micro-manage aspect of having to manually ship your horses to each track before each race.

So to close, the key factors to remember are:

1) Only train once per week

2) Make sure you complete your horses your training before you decide to start racing your horse.

3) Once you start racing your horse you do not need to continue training unless you plan to not race your horse for a while.

4) Upgrade to "SIMperior" status to take advantage of the benefits offered including the speed figures and the "auto-ship" option.

I hope that this information is helpful to some of the newer players just starting out.

I still consider myself a new player, but feel that I am strides ahead of where I was on that first night which is thanks to the helpful community that is Simhorseracing.com
