This a fun running line thread question from me. Anyways:
I've got a filly who is at the right distance, right surface, etc. and she had the running line; Clean break settled moved willingly inside bested the others and still placed second. I added a tongue tie today but am wondering if perhaps I should give her lasix instead?
I figured since we've got this break its a good time to adjust equipment so their ready to go for the new race season.

In general, if your horse has a very positive running line and still finishes 2nd (with a strong final comment), it just means that the horse who beat yours was better than yours, at least on that day. I'd judge equipment changes in that case off the horse's other races instead.
You're not getting a dead button...in fits of rage, John Slotman and Ara Davies and Jolene Danner would literally kill half their barns.
