I've created the races for Week 1 and Week 3. I've also created two of the Week 5 races, but I'm not allowed to create any more this week. I'll keep added as I'm allowed to, and update the original post when I do.

Did I goof and put my horses in a dirt race? They really belong in a turf route (FLOTUS) and turf sprint (Cool Disco Dan)

ETA: I think I've got this figure out--the dirt races have been created first, so horses can be entered in them now. I'm going to have to wait until week 4 or thereabouts for the turf races to open.

The horses get entered into every type of race. You run your Turf Router in each race even if it isn't a preferred surface or distance. They earn points in each race. The horse that earns the most points at the end of the year gets to choose from a list of prizes. You Turf Router will race in the Dirt Sprint (probably not run well, but could beat out some other horses that are also not at optimal distance/surface.

I have created 8 more races. Next week, I will do 8 more, then I will just need to add the final three the week after that and all of the races will be carded.

I'm hoping that later this evening (it's about 10:00 am now), I'll be able to post the results from the first week of races. The Week 3 races are open for everyone to enter your horses. Remember, that the point is to race your horse at surfaces and distances that may not be ideal. We had some outsiders enter the race, and they did not scratch after being asked, so remember to get your horse entered early to avoid not being able to get into the race.

The race that my other horse was in, Brother Stuart, had someone who didn't belong causing my horse to lose the race...I wish there was a way to keep th epeople out who don't belong

Unfortunately, we cannot keep everyone else out. I try to keep up with the entries when I can, but I'm not always able to. If you see a horse entered in a race where they don't belong, I usually send the owner and message that says something like "Your horse [HORSE NAME] is entered into a race that was created for a forum contest, would you be willing to scratch the horse from the race so that all of the entrants can be entered?" Unless the person doesn't check their messages, it usually works. The good news is that your horse will still receive the max points for the race. He will just miss out on the purse money which does suck.
