Steeplechase races are races run at a long distance on a turf course over a series of jumps, usually about 15 jumps.

Here is a quick overview of Steeplechasing:

Chases are available in the United States, Australia, and Europe.
Steeplechasers must be 3 years old or older.
All standard rules apply regarding shipping, tiredness, etc.

To make your horse a 'chaser, visit the horse's page and click on "End Flat Racing Career - Become a Steeplechaser"
Horses must be 3 years old or older and not already retired to be eligible.
All horses will be listed as "maidens" again, even if they won on the flat.
Once the horse officially retires for good, it will revert back to being a normal racehorse to reproduce with other racehorses, not just steeplechase horses.
Horses will not be able to race past the age of 9 (applies to flat racers and steeplechasers).
Once your horses changes careers, it cannot become a flat racer again.
If your horse won on the flat, but never wins a steeplechase, it will go back to being a non-maiden upon retirement.
