gallops

Post by Gigi Gofaster »

Thankfully, my trotters redeemed a pretty dispapointing year, with:

8 stakes /Wows: 2 by Victory palace, 1 by Forty Oz, 2 by DoC, 1 by Up Around the bend, and 2 by Winning Combo.

23 wings greats

9 HTT

13 of the rest

I loved, loved, loved the multi-horse training tool!

I got my first Pacer wow today from Gotthelife. The wow yearling was out of a "good" mare (Edamame). My Late Summer Blues yearling was an okay galloper.

From four trotter yearlings, I had one scary good, one wow and two wings.

The scary good is Dreams of Cash x Cloverdale (who only needs one piece of equipment!), the wow is by Drinks Are On Me x Blackmagic Lullaby.

Very good results from my 11 yearlings: 5 wows - 4 from I'm Hot to Rock and 1 from Victory Shout.

While Thoroughbred gallops may have tightened a tiny bit, it appears its still somewhat easier to get Stakes horses from Trotters. My 11 mares are only formidable/good and the results speak for themselves.

I regalloped all my 2yo standardbreds with NO change so I'm pretty sure changes are limited to TBs (and possibly arabs)

I've also had appys and qhs change with age. I don't have enough of a sample size on trotters/pacers to be able to judge. I don't know why they wouldn't, though.

I see a clear trend of changes (claimer to htt, wow to wings and a handful htt to wings) among 2yos but ONLY thoroughbreds and arabians, no changes for stock breeds or standardbreds. I haven't checked anything older than 2. Oh and I have a pretty decent sample size for trotters, arabians and tbs, a little thin on the rest.

Just to test Patrick's theory, I galloped all my two year old trotters.

Of the 10, there was one change - a colt that dropped from Wow to wings.

That's interesting. I had no changes in 39 trotters while for instance I had six changes in 30 turf routers

I galloped eight two year old thoroughbreds and saw no changes. *shrugs*

This is NOT limited to just Arabs and TBs or whatever. It is amongst all breeds.... so it just hasn't happened yet to you :-)
