2014 Melbourne Cup Sweep
Nearly forgot...but no reason why this shouldn't go ahead!
For those who are not familiar with how a sweep works - basically each person participating will be allocated a horse in the race before the start of the race. If your horse wins/ places in the Melbourne Cup, you get money!. There are 24 spots in the sweep and there is a fee of $50k SIM to enter.
Prizes will be as follows:
1st: $1.5m
2nd: $500k
3rd: $300k
Last: $200k
Given the short timeframe, we will probably need close to 24 people to sign up in the next day for it to go ahead. I am cautiously optimistic this can happen. Past winners as follows:
2013
1- Danny Derby (Fiorente) (5)
2- Laura Cameron (Red Cadeaux) (23)
3- Pete Vella (Mount Athos) (22)
Last - Louise Bayou (Ruscello) (24)
2012
1- Steph Lonhro (Green Moon) (5)
2- Laura Cameron (Fiorente) (2)
3- Art Vandalay (Jakkalberry) (19)
Last - Chris Simpson (Ethiopia) (14)
2011
1- Bill Outsilver (Dunaden) (13)
2- Eric Nalbone (Red Cadeaux) (16)
3- Kimberley Jean (Lucas Cranach) (11)
Last - Bob Green (Modun) (5)
2010
1- Cleo Patra (Americain) (12)
2- Carolyn Eaton (Maluckyday) (6)
3- Franky Dam (So You Think) (3)
Last - Matt Wilson (Zavite) (7)
2009
1- Cleo Patra (Shocking) (22)
2- Happy Trails (Crime Scene) (11)
3- Iggy Timeeczech (Mourilyan) (14)
Last- Michael Edwards (Warringah) (17)
<Insert joke about Cleo winning every year>
Good luck!
