I love, love, love this horse! She was one of several Standardbred yearlings that I got for $1 each from Thomas Makelele. Not only is she my first G1 winner, she is my first graded stakes winner of any breed. With her win last night, she has a chance to win the Trotter filly Triple Crown in two weeks!

Dani gives me a heart attack every time she runs. She waits so late to make her move, you think there's just NO WAY she can get it done. (I had to close my eyes at the end of the Emo Mile). But this style seems to work for her. She is calm and steady on the surface, but deep down she has a burning desire to win. I can't wait to see what the rest of her career has in store for her.

Well, she didn't win the Triple Crown. I was worried about the sloppy track because she did poorly in the slop in her very first race, and apparently I was right to worry.

Just so you know, She didn't win by a vote, she was the best in her division by enough that the admins (or whoever does the simmys) chose her to get the simmy without the public voting on the division.

OMG, I just noticed that there is a new stakes race this Saturday named for my girl!!! Listed stakes, not sponsored. The race schedulers have been doing this every weekend this year for a couple retired Trotters and I'm so excited that they actually chose Daniela! This totally makes my day!
