Re: Auction Bug?
Not a bug. Tony was out-bid on one of those horses. So he was able to bid on a different horse and had 2 high bids. Then, something reduced the bank balance of the person who out-bid him on the first horse. So that player could no longer cover their bid, so that bid was canceled. So Tony became the high bidder since the higher bid was removed.

Thanks for clearing that up. I was really confused when I got an outbid message but saw I still had 2 high bids.

Those should have been two separate events separated by some time.Tony Baker wrote: ↑4 years ago Thanks for clearing that up. I was really confused when I got an outbid message but saw I still had 2 high bids.

Most likely was, I remember looking at some stage on my phone during my shift at work and seeing the outbid message, then checking the "Auction bids" page from the My Office tab on the client homepage and seeing I still had 2 high bids.

Re: Auction Bug?
Then wouldn’t the coding say Tony cannot have high bid cause he already had 2 high bids and default to the next person in line? Not that this is a rampant issue, just curious.Tony Baker wrote: ↑4 years ago Thanks for clearing that up. I was really confused when I got an outbid message but saw I still had 2 high bids.
Re: Auction Bug?
The coding could say that, but it doesn't. When a bid is removed because of lack of funds, it only removes the bid - it doesn't recheck the resulting list of high bidders to determine if other bids need to be removed because of the max high-bid policy. Doing this would bring up a dilemma because we'd potentially be removing a perfectly valid under-bid. In the end, if someone has too many high bids, the max-wins policy will kick in and remove the other high-bids.Durzo Blint wrote: ↑4 years agoThen wouldn’t the coding say Tony cannot have high bid cause he already had 2 high bids and default to the next person in line?
