Welcome to SIMHorseRacing.com, one of the oldest and most popular equine fantasy games on the 'net. Here you will find perhaps the most loyal - and friendly - fan base around, and if you ever have any questions that aren't answered here, you should try the Forum for what can be almost instant support. This game is beloved because it is so realistic. Even though at times it can be heartbreakingly vivid and real (such as when a horse is injured, etc), the thrill of victory is that much sweeter. This game is so complex that one can spend hours on it, trying to figure out all the intricacies and nuances, or one can buy a handful of horses and spend 10 minutes a week entering them in races. Although it can be a little daunting to see owners with millions in the bank already, New Players get 1 whole game year (16 weeks) to race against other new players on a level playing field, and then they become "Junior Players" where they spend a second year in a slightly more competitive, but still restricted, circuit. Players often find that this game, for whatever reason, is one of the few games available that gets into one's heart and soul. So go ahead, sign up and give it a try, and let your emotions be taken for a ride! If you haven't done so already, you need to sign up. If you click that link, the sign up page will open in a new window. You can also view this link on the left hand column, third from the top. Fill out your information, and then click on the Sign Up button. An email will be sent to you for confirmation. Click the link provided in the email, and it will redirect you back to the SIM. Congratulations! You are now part of the most exciting, interactive, and complex games you can imagine. Now you are viewing your stable. Unfortunately, you don't have any horses. Before you start buying some, look around a bit at your stable options. Your stable page displays your name, and then your SIM Money. All new players start with $100,000. Definitely don't go spending it all at once! Underneath that are your trainer statistics for the current year. Once you start racing, it will display the number of starts you have, then your wins, places, and shows (first, second, and third place finishes, otherwise known as "on the board" finishes). Click on "My Profile." This information is optional, and is available to all other SIM users to see. The most important part of this page is the Private Messaging feature. Choose to either allow or not allow this feature. The con of allowing it are that anyone in the game can contact you, but the pros are that you can now contact others for advice, make offers on horses, accept or reject offers on your own horses, and make new friends through messaging. Make sure to save your changes when you are done! Go back to your stable page, and now click on "My Messages" in the menu. If you have a new message, it will alert you when you visit your main page as such: Once you click on it, it will take you to your Messages page, where you will be able to view your messages and write your own. Head back to your stable page. Since you don't have any horses, it's time to buy some!
