Left Breathless Storms Away in the Juvenile Fillies Sprint

Original article written by Jackie Gottsche posted 11 years 3 weeks ago

That’s right, Gigi Gofaster’s speedy black filly Left Breathless has stolen away the Steward’s Cup Juvenile Fillies this past Thursday night. She is a Clinto Jacinto bred and by the magnificent dirt sprinter stallion Nicholas. Left Breathless is out of the Ad Infinitum mare Left Breathless. She stands at a lofty 16 hands and is undefeated in six starts.

Left Breathless made her maiden debut in the Treasured Stakes at Adolescent Acres in California at four furlongs. It was no trouble for this precious filly as she was kept in mid pack before sneaking up on the leaders to steal first position. Left Breathless crossed the wire in first by two and a quarter lengths with a speed figure of seventy eight.

Gigi Gofaster directed the black filly towards the Aikou Senshi Stakes. Here, Left Breathless showed her endless talent once again and settled in mid pack as usual. Left Breathless flew past horses, driving to the wire to win brilliantly by two with a seventy seven speed figure.

Next up was the Amor Vincit Vitae Stakes at Child’s Play Park in Canada. This was the first time the filly was stepping off of American soil. She was traveling north for this ungraded stakes against four other horses. Once again this was a walk in the park for Left Breathless. She sat behind leaders and waited for her move, making it a tad late but that did not stop her. The black filly swung up to win by two and a half lengths over Xtreme Heat, owned by Rachel Sadler.

Three weeks later, Left Breathless was shipped back to California for her first graded stakes – the grade three Phantom Escapade Stakes. She sat behind the leaders again, keeping up with the field of fillies in third until storming past the leaders to steal first position. Left Breathless thundered down the stretch, kicking up dirt in her opponent’s faces as she roared past the wire to win by two lengths over Jon Xett’s On Demand. She ran with a seventy eight speed figure.

California certainly was the place for Left Breathless as she stayed for the Big Dinner Stakes. This is a stakes restricted to California-breds. Gigi Gofaster’s jet black filly was against six other fillies and it appeared as if it would be an easy win for her. Luck was on the black filly’s side as she found a hole and dashed through, taking the lead gallantly to win by three and a quarter lengths with a speed figure of seventy nine. Left Breathless won over Pedro Pastinio’s Nursette and Lisa Strummer’s Smilefromthestreet.

Left Breathless moved onto a stakes race in Canada, an ungraded stakes also named the Phantom Escapade Stakes. Of course this was no trouble for Left Breathless as she smoothly crossed the wire, not even in top gear. The black filly won by a length over Vollgas with a speed figure of seventy six.
Now, the filly’s most recent win was in the Steward’s Cup Juvenile Fillies Sprint where she won beautifully in Baltimore. Gigi Gofaster celebrated her first Thoroughbred Steward’s Cup win and happily cheered in the crowd along with hundreds of others. Left Breathless certainly left her opponents gasping for air at the end of the race as she was led triumphantly to the winner’s circle.
