The gates crashed open at Toronto Racecourse for the SC Debutante, and Marked With Chrome was the first out of the gate, breaking inwards but still leading by ½ a length. Meshach broke well in second, and she was a neck in front of In Flamed, who also broke cleanly. The latter also had a neck in front of the fourth place starter, Universe of Moons, and she herself was ¾ lengths in front of Wichita, who had broken quickly but into 5th. Just a neck separated her from Ruler of the Kiss, away well, and just a head behind the latter was Othawa. She was followed by Shines Again, only half a length behind, and then there was a gap of 2 ½ lengths back to Jon’s Girl, who had broken well, albeit slowly, into last place.

The field was still tightly knit by the second call, with Marked With Chrome still in front, but just by a nose as In Flamed was prompting the pace early and putting the pressure on the leader. Just a neck behind was Meshach, also forcing the pace from third position. Then there was a gap of 2 lengths back to Universe of Moons, running at a bit more of a relaxed pace half a length in front of Wichita, who was also settling well. Another half a length back was Ruler of the Kiss, who was under a firm hold by her jockey to try and conserve her energy. Othawa was just a nose behind in sixth, instead being hustled on the rail. A length and a quarter separated her from Shines Again, who had been taken back rather then being run in the pack, and now another 5 lengths back to Jon’s Girl at the tail of the field, running steadily and easily.

By the third call, Meshach had continued to accelerate and had taken the lead from Marked With Chrome by 3 lengths already, and had moved inside to save ground as well. The former leader went wide on the turn, and was starting to tire. Wichita had started her late run from fifth and was now jst a nose behind in third, and a length in front of Othawa who had don’t the same as her and was now in fourth after altering her course. However she was still just a noes in front of In Flamed, who had dropped back to fifth on the rail, and the latter was also only a nose ahead of Ruler of The Kiss, who was still holding her position in sixth, but was now being urged along. Following a gap of 2 ½ lengths, Shines again was running wide on the turn, a length in front of Universe of Moons on the inside, who had fallen back all the way from fourth. Finally, still trailing by 1 ¾ lengths was Jon’s Girl, who was now attempting to save ground.

As they flashed under the wire, the clear winner was Meshach, absolutely dominating the field to win by an astounding 6 lengths, much the best in the field. Coming second was Wichita, who had run gamely in the stretch and completed her late run to finish 1 ¼ lengths in front of the third place horse, but could not catch the winner. In third was Ruler of the Kiss, who had bested the others as well with her respective late effort. Finishing 4th by just a nose was Othawa, who had continued evenly in the stretch. Fifth by 1 ¼ lengths was Marked With Chrome, angling out late but falling back badly from the lead, and 1 ¾ lengths back was In Flamed, who had had no response late, and had tired from the front as well. Half a length behind her, finishing seventh was Shines Again, who had not succeeded in performing a late run, having no rally when asked, and eighth by just a neck was Jon’s Girl, who had moved up a spot from last, running evenly to the end. Finishing ninth and last was Universe of Moons who had an even finish, but had seemingly long past spit out the bit.
