The seventh, and currently, most recent Triple Crown winner was the sensational filly Owl Let You Know in Year 50. By James Dean, a grandson of Amber, out of Goodwill a wonderful racemare who also produced Stewards Cup Distaff winner All Good and the fascinating Fargo who won stakes races at sprints, miles, & routes. Owl Let You Know was born when her dam was 14 years old.
As a yearling Owl Let You Know ran what was at the time the fastest ever timed workout over five furlongs in 56.53 a time that has only been bettered by her future rival The People's Horse. Owl Let You Know made her debut in week 10 of her 2yo season in a Maiden 2yo fillies over 1 1/16 miles where she won by a stunning 7 ½ lengths with a speed figure of 100! On debut. Wow.
Unsurprisingly Owl Let You Know was next entered in a stakes race two weeks later, the Five Fading Lights Stakes over 1 1/16 miles for fillies where she won by 2 ½ lengths. Two weeks she ran in the Grade One Bubbly Stakes against the males where she won by four lengths.
Owl Let You Know had the final start of her 2yo season in the Stewards Cup Juvenile Fillies held that year at The Spa where she won by 4 lengths. Owl Let You Know finished the season with 4 starts for 4 wins and was awarded Champion Two Year Old Female at the end of the year.
The first start of a record breaking 3yo year for Owl Let You Know was made in the Grade Three Tremendous Stakes run over 1 1/8 miles against males where she won by 3 ¾ lengths. Two weeks later she ran in the Grade One Kentucky Blue Stakes over 1 1/8 miles where she won by just over 5 lengths.
The Louisville Derby was run two weeks later and was the first race for Owl Let You Know on a sloppy track. She broke well and took the lead to eventually win by a nose from The People's Horse (both horses ran a speed figure of 99) and Mr White Socks back in third. Owl Let You Know was only the fourth filly in fifty sim years to win the Louisville Derby.
Both place getters ran against Owl Let You Know in the Baltimore Crown a week later along with two other opponents but it was an easy win for Owl Let You Know by over 2 lengths, with a speed figure of 100, to The Peoples Horse and Mr White Socks third.
Owl Let You Know then met seven opponents in the Long Island Classic where she got broke well and got out to a huge lead before winning by almost 5 lengths to become the first, and likely only, ever filly to win the Triple Crown.
After a four week break Owl Let returned in the Grade One Rags To Riches Stakes run over ¼ miles against older mares where she won by over 4 lengths. Three weeks later Owl Let You Know had the final start of her 3yo season in the Stewards Cup Distaff held that year at Arcadia Park and she won by over 8 lengths. Owl Let You Know finished her 3yo season with 7 starts for 7 wins she was awarded the North American Champion Three Year Old and North American Horse Of The Year.
Owl Let You Know began her 4yo season in the Grade One Pegasus Classic over 1 3/16 miles where she won by 3 ½ lengths over Mr White Socks. Two weeks later Owl Let You Know ran in the Arcadia Million where she broke well and took a big lead before getting caught just on the line to run third her first defeat at her unlucky thirteenth start. She was beaten by half a length and ran a speed figure of 99.
Three weeks later Owl Let You Know ran in the Grade One Baltimore Special over 1 3/16 miles where she won by 4 ½ lengths and set a sim record time that stands as of writing of 1:52.97. Two weeks later Owl Let You Know ran in the Louisville Classic which she won by four lengths.
Owl Let You Know had her only start over 2 miles in the James Bond Memorial Stakes three weeks later where she finished 2nd to Sheru by just under 2 lengths. Two weeks later in the Long Island Gold Cup over 1 ¼ miles Owl Let You Know ran another speed figure of 100 when finishing second by a nose to her old rival The People's Horse.
The Year 51 Stewards Cup Ladies Route over 1 ½ miles was held at New Orleans Park where Owl Let You Know won by six lengths in a race record time of 2:25.41. She finished her 4yo season with 7 starts for 4 wins, 2 seconds and a third. All but one of her races were against males and she was awarded the North American Champion Older Female, and North American Horse Of The Year.
Owl Let You Know finished her career with 18 starts for 15 wins, 2 seconds, and a third with career earnings of 7.5 million dollars. She ran a speed figure of 100 twelve times and currently holds 2× race record times. The Steward in her daybreak series described Owl Let You Know as possibly the greatest Sim horse of all time.
As at the end of the Year 52 Owl Let You Know has had two foals that are not yet at racing age. Though unlikely to be as good as her they will no doubt be closely followed.
