Prix de Ratatouille @ Parc Ratatouille

by Jurgen Ver posted 5 months 1 week ago

On WK14 there were the first grade 1 races on my track in France. Thanks to the rain, the conditions where sloppy. Much people on the track came to see the grade 1 races. Drink and food flowed lavishly and the many spectators were shown 8 beautiful and exciting races. The VIPs were spoiled. The tension was increased to the last 2 races of the day. The 2-year-old horses could only just keep their nerves under control and were eager to start their 'important' race.

The first ‘Prix de Ratatouille’ was the race for the fillys.
6 Horses came to France to enter this race.

Tls Calling, from the Tom Lin stable, was the winner. She came from the USA to win this race and get a cheque of $100.000. Tls Calling is sired by GP stud Prayer I am. Her dam is Tls Castle Call. Tls Calling is the 2nd stakes winning foal from this mare. Tls Calling started 4 times this year and won every race she started. 2nd finished Bjs Belle Diva from my own stable. She is sired by Tls Captain Jack S. Her dam is Young Priestess. Bjs Belle Diva is the first foal from that mare and can have a nice future. After a bad start, she broke her maiden and she finished 2 times 2nd with a nice sf. 3rd today was Devon Mediocrity from owner/breeder Lucas Davenport. This filly is sired by the famous Devon Castle. Her dam is Nite Mediocrity, a Blue hen sired by Stag Nite. It was for Devon Mediocrity her 3rd start. Her first 2 races she finished 2 times as a winner.

1 Tls Calling – Tom Lin
2 Bjs Belle Diva – Jurgen Ver
3 Devon Mediocrity – Lucas Davenport
4 Pacific Quest – Kent Saunders
5 Trot Yuki – Marc Plouffe
6 Sumwheresumtime – Te Akau Downs

The 2nd ‘Prix de Ratatouille’ was raced for 2y old colts and geldings.
Also 6 horses started in this race.

I was very surprised when I saw the results. Bjs Magic Bonus from my stable finished as winner. He is the first freak from Tls Bonus. He is also the first foal from Gotska Sandoen. This dam is sired by Devon Castle. This is a big boost for my stud Tls Bonus, bred by Tom Lin. First freak and already a grade 1 winner. 2nd in this race was Tls Pogo from Tom Lin. Tls Pogo is sired by Tls Pegasus. His dam is Tls Hot Wheels. Keto Horvath, IMO the favorite for this race, finished 3rd. He won his first 2 stakes races. Keto Horvath, from the Lucas Davenport stable, is sired by Horvath. His dam Eroad is also from Devon Castle.

1 Bjs Magic Bonus – Jurgen Ver

The track is extended for another year of trotter pleasure.
Next year there will be some changes in the schedule from Parc Ratatouille. The racetrack will be a racetrack for 2y olds and 3y olds trotters only. All the claiming races will be for 3y olds. Every 3 weeks there will be the same claim race. On week 1 there will be claimings for 10K, week 2 we have the 22.5K claimings and week 3 50K claimings. I hope to see a lot of trotters next year.
