Feature Attraction Retired

Original article written by The Steward posted 17 years 2 weeks ago

Four year old Feature Attraction, last year's Breeders' Cup Turf winner, was retired on Saturday afternoon, just hours after a dominating 17 length win at Woodbine.

The popular black son of Conduit, bred and trained throughout his career by Jon Xett, retired with 11 wins in 13 starts, and $4,265,000 in earnings. Both career losses came on the dirt, a fourth place finish in this year's San Diego Handicap, and a narrow loss to future Horse of the Year Fog City in the Queen's Plate last year.

Feature Attraction started his career by sweeping the Two Year Old Turf Triple, then made quick work of the Breeders' Cup Turf as a three year old, winning by 13 1/2 lengths. His biggest win this year came in the Dubai Sheema Classic, which he took by 5 lengths. His final start was RMC Veterans Memorial at Woodbine.

Feature Attraction is out of the Grade 1 winning Tejano Causeway mare Kismet. He is a full brother to another Grade 1 winner, Kizzer. He is standing his first season for $41,000.
