Susie Raisher's Monet pulled off a stunning upset in the Kentucky Derby when the son of Loki Masterpiece, a Derby winner himself, weaved through traffic to nose out the heavy favorite, King of Jesters.
Even more spectacular, Monet almost fell on the backstretch when Iron City backed up quickly into him.
It was Raisher's first Derby victory. Monet is a half brother to Year 16 Champion Two Year Old Filly Fiery Sunset.
Finishing second was King of Jesters, and Jolene Danner's Seek Thrills was third. All three horses are expected for the Preakness.
