Re: Question about late blooming ??
If the horse has actually bloomed, AND all things being equal (correct equipment, same amount of rest, etc), the workout times should be faster - although there's always a little bit of a range on those times, even with all variables being equal. Note that it may not be a tremendous improvement, and...

Re: Steward-breds
So what would everyone's recommendation be about me leasing mares from other players. They don't get to race the foal, or they do? If I'm willing to pay $5 million for a Steward's Cup winner who has produced 2 freaks, but not willing to pay more than $1 million for a generic Grade 1 winner, how do ...

Well, heck
So, I debuted my allowance/peak 2yo filly Santa Susana in a Sunday Park allowance, because it looked easier than the fields in the maiden races. Go to check results. She won with a 99(!) speed figure, which as I just looked up, is a new world record for the distance. I'm going to guess that she's an...

Gelding World Cup - Year 57
It's that time of year!, This year's Steward's Cup is at Single Star Park, so we’ll join in (any all weather races could be at Artificial Arena, mixers at Sam Austin Park, harness at Clay Mile and steeplechases at Sycamore Downs). If people want to sponsor additional steeplechases/all weather/mixed ...

Re: El Dorado
He did it! El Dorado is now a G1 winner sprinting, mid-distance, and routing. He also set a new world record for 350 yards. I am so going to miss this guy. Going for the Star of Stars next, and then he'll finish his career in the Steward's Cup, just not sure what distance.

Re: One Small Thing
Chasers are not a separate breed, they are TB's. I don't care if there is a filter for TB flat and TB chase on the stats or not but they are not a separate breed and are a TRUE TB. If you breed a chaser mare to a chaser stallion to get chasers, it is a separate breed. Even though the base genes are...

Re: Steward-breds
I rarely disagree with Laura but I do this time. The overlooked item is do we need 250 SB yearlings a season? I think every post that addressed it said no. So that means it should be much, much easier to replenish turnover with the SB mares. I personally like 3 auctions a season of 50-60 each. But ...

Re: Steward-breds
The main question I have after reading all of this is, with all of the conditions players want to put on leasing mares to the Steward (put her on an annual budget, cash only, can't race the filly and/or keep the first foal from that filly), who would actually lease their top mares to the Steward? I ...
