Re: W16 Anxiety

I have no concerns about this week. But as always, I will have concerns about the following weeks (break). All of my usual (Sim) routines will be missing. So I am thinking about going to Hawaii. Of course, I will probably just think about going and end up staying home.

Re: TBS Foal Auction-What did you get?

...23 degrees and windy this morning in Kentucky for a cold three mile run, 77 and sunny in Cocoa Beach now. I'll take the change. Of all the places that I have lived, my most enjoyable long (1+ hour) runs in January were in Florida. I even ran the 2000 Disney Half-Marathon (1:32:41). I hope you br...

Re: Y55 Update Thread

Given 1. The price of Steward breds will likely rise dramatically because of their phase out. 2. The limit on how many Steward-breds an individual can own per year will be lifted. I do not understand why the remaining partnerships can not acquire additional Steward-breds. For those Steward-breds com...

Re: Bye Bye Steward Bred's

Just a bunch of thoughts running in my head regarding this new can of worms introduced to us today. I remember the steward once saying that a horses racing ability and mare rating are generated at birth. To me this means that if that bell curve freak limit or stake limit gets filled early on, there...

Re: Thoughts on Steward Breds

I haven't read this whole thread (it is long), but I just wanted to say that right now the biggest problem/road block to Steward-breds is real life. I'm really drowning trying to keep up with real life let alone the SIM.... and Steward-breds would be the easiest thing to make go away. Right now it'...

Re: Patnerships

To be fair, if partnerships are ended, the 20,000 GPs spent to create each one would need to be refunded. In addition, the remaining amount of SIMperior weeks that each partnership has would need to be refunded. Since GPs are not redeemable for cash, the refunded GPs would be transferred back to the...

Re: Unraced TBs "Give Away"

Of the remaining unsold horses, I think the following 3 horses are the best buys. Each is a 3YO solid galloper in which a gallop revealed equipment.

Unraced TBs "Give Away"

I have placed a number of unraced TBs for sale at "give away prices". Essentially, I used the price to mark each horse as follows. $3 each: Productive Gallop $2 each: Solid Gallop $1 each: Claimer Gallop Link There are no "late bloomers". All these horse have been galloped regularly since they were ...

Re: Freak Population in Thoroughbred's?

You could probably get a rough idea by adding up the freak gallop %s in the stud book. Wouldn't be totally accurate, for a number of reasons, but not a bad ballpark. With so few freak TS producers currently in the stud book, I just added up the counts (34). 44% (15/34) of these freaks are the offsp...

Re: Improvents W9D1 are here one day early?

What I noticed about my improvers, I didn’t check them all, but the ones I checked that actually improved all change from a previous late bloomer type comment to now having a peak comment. I had a number of allowance to stakes and one stakes to freak. All were late bloomers and now are at their peak.

Re: Improvents W9D1 are here one day early?

... The margin was adjusted on the top end which allows a horse to now be considered a freak or stakes when previously it was classified as a high level allowance or stakes based on the numbers. I’m not saying your horses did not improve. Many of them still could have, but with bigger margins allow...
