I never did get around to finishing out Year 58...which is what this post will do. Then I can start on what pensioners have done what for year 59 : )

I'm still in recovery after being sick for about 6 weeks and this being the 7th week, I'm still feeling pretty hammered as far as energy level - so I didn't get around to updating this. Seems like I'm so far behind I feel like I'm coming in first.

It's around 5:30 in the morning, and I wasn't sleeping most of the night, so I gave up on that, and decided to get in here and update the thread. I hope to get it all up and in order soon...which will depend upon how often I get distracted by YouTube clips...lol.

Year 59 Earners

Midnight Firefight - Won first place in the rodeo. $10,000

Year 59 TOTAL = $10,000

Hope my old pensioners will do well this year, I've had a lot of the die though, and I've not been breeding as many crops as I use to do for some Sim decades so the pastures are not being filled like they use to be.

Well my Year 59 results were not all that great. And this year, (Year 60) might prove even worse.
Since the break started at the end of Year 59, I have had about 75 to 80 of my pensioners die from old age, and have no doubt that more will probably follow in the coming weeks.

I had built up a pretty big pensioner band when I use to breed a 100, to 150 foals each year, and in not selling any of my horses, most ended up in the pensioner pasture. Then, some years ago, I reduced my foals down to about 40 to 60 foals a year -- and those horses from those long ago large foal crops have aged and are now dying off.
So my pensioner herd has shrunk quite a bit.

In this particular post I'm showing the final tally of the years I've been tracking my pensioner earnings and also posting my first earner for Year 60. : )

Two Dark Omens-- 3rd in the horse show. $5,000

No Bull Gets By Me, won 3rd place in today's rodeo $ 5,000 prize

Nice to see another small paycheck from my pensioners pasture.

I didn't recognize the horse though, and had to go take a look. Turns out he's 26 years old, and was a gift from another player when she quit the game. I joined in 2006, and after all the years I've been here, and the 2,646 I've bred, plus those that I bought and were given to me, I'm rather happy that I can usually recall that I raced, or bred them or had them in my stable.
But sometimes I draw a blank. :P

Yay! There are still a few more weeks left and my pensioners have at this point made more than what happened last year when the total was $22,500. This too, when my pensioner stable has been absolutely devastated by older horses dying off...all of which were either eventers or rodeo career types. I must have lost at least 100 of my pensioners this season due to old age. : (

Check the Law clearly misses being a racehorse, and took off during a lesson today!
Perhaps she ought to have been a bit better at it, then.

Ain't that the truth. :P lol

I have a very old pensioner, he's 32 years old now, his name is Stormin Norman.
He was bred and raced by someone else, but I followed while he was a racer, because he was sired by a horse I owned.
When his career ended at age 6, he was pensioned, turned into a lesson horse, and given to AJ, and i bought him.

https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=230040

He's been a pensioner for so long that he's done Everything a Lesson Horse can do...lol I wish Lesson Horse comments could have been recorded into their history...as his would have been such a funny read, and too the lesson comments have changed over the years, but too, I would have loved to seen how many times now Stormin Norman made Sami Cry over the years.

Off to kind of a slow start so far, given it's near the end of Week 6, but something is better than nothing. : )

Also, sad news, my old lesson horse, Stormin' Norman died - he was 32 years old and did everything, good and bad, that a lesson horse could do for the 25 or so years he was a lesson horse.

I bought him for $1,000 out of AJ's barn after his breeder/trainer pensioned him. He was the son of my first SC Winner, a turf sprinter named Storm The Blockade, and earned a respectable $144,440 during his racing career. I'm going to miss seeing his name pop up from time to time informing how he's behaving.

I think Stormin Norman had Sami in tears dozens of times, then started on Sami's kids, and then the grandkids. lol.
But for the most part, I think he was a good lessons horse. I did get so many reports on him...and I wish too, that those reports could have been recorded.

If I recall correctly...you named him after a gym coach? It's been like forever ago that I told you I ended up with him.

Sorry Stormy, I truly don’t remember. Every now and again, I’ll see a name I like and I’m surprised to see I named it. My memory for names is absolutely horrible.
