Oof. Big bounce last night. Or did she pull a Cinematic and lose her mojo W9?...

So, cool story, guys. Poking around Rogue's page just now and I realized I'd never actually confirmed her second piece. One race before retirement. Well, I'm sure I got it right, right? Two 100SFs? A SC win and a Desert win over colts? Two million dollars in earnings, ten graded wins, six 90+SFs?

I WAS WRONG. I HAD IT WRONG THIS WHOLE ******* TIME.

I just about died laughing. Then felt a little sick. What could have been??!!!
I check all my silly claimers with the jockey but I never thought to ask about the best horse I've ever had
...

With winds and SF's like that, I wouldn't have questioned it either! Maybe you will just have to run her another year! ;)

She should probably be unbeaten. Just saying.

Ouch.

(I truly wonder how many horses Em has been able to say that about over the years. I know it must have been true a fair amount back before the Year 44 fitness changes.)

She's almost unbeaten even with the wrong equipment, Laura. Huge heart and will to win.

As much as I hate to dredge up this thread and its accompanying memory of my biggest SIM f-up ever, my girl's first foal just became a stakes winner! He's "only" an allowance but seems to be on the upper end of that spectrum and I have a tiny shred of hope that he's not done improving yet. I really, really, really want to get a nice stallion from this female family and in saying that I've probably jinxed myself.

Anyway, Riot is cool, the yearling filly is looking pretty fancy, and I'm really excited for the Cracksman baby. No hard plans for next year. Too bad I can't send her to Strong and Free... though you better bet that's where her mom is going!

Someone looked a little like Mom today!
Now if I can only breed a baby that's nearly as nice as this .. 4 more chances... 😬

Emmie Kay wrote: 5 years ago I love the stories about playbred horses. 🙂 So cool the dam jumped to Stakes, I wonder her offspring will also? I was wondering if this was an inherited trait or not. Maybe Em can answer? Or anyone that already knows. Haha.
For sure "late-blooming bloodlines" are a thing, but random changes are also a thing... who's to say which it was.
Fingers crossed that the claimer yearling decides to take after Mom in that regard ;)

Wonder how many 'late bloomer's' I have prematurely trashed?

No, I really don't care to know!
