Rogue
I never post in here but this one deserves it, because at this point I have to think she's the best horse I've ever bred, and everything about her is awesome, including:
-started out as a solid yearling and jumped to stakes W9. Haven't regalloped since but am curious...
-was pretty good as an early juvenile but exploded W13 and became the first non-Steward-bred turf sprinter to ever run a 100SF, and the first horse I've ever raced to do so
-came back from SC bomb to run ANOTHER 100SF -- matching See You Monday's two lifetime 100's
-just ran another 94, for fun
-her sire is the best stallion I've ever owned and was a blast to campaign and is my favourite.
-her dam is my FAVOURITE favourite, a homebred G1-winner of $900k and a BH, out of a mare that threw three other G1 winners, including one that ran and produced well for Scott, which makes me happy right now
-she and her mom and her future siblings are named after beer, which is the best drink in the world and also my favourite
-her little sis is unbeaten in two starts, and her little little sis is hopefully a nice one for Pete
-her cat is named after three almost identical orange cats that come through our yard all the time asking for belly rubs -- all three of which we call "Orange Cat"
-she's soooo pretty.
thanks for listening to my babbling! So excited about this one for sure.

Re: Rogue
My girl won her final prep for the SC last night, and I think it was a good tightener - not too fast, not too slow, and she did have to work for it a bit vs. a very nice filly, so she should be sharp.
A little concerned that she dropped W9 as her last two figs have been quite a bit lower than she ran early season, despite seemingly having to work harder in these last two; but high 80s are the norm right now with this group of mares, so I think we're still okay. She's all over the map, this one -- if she did change W9 I'd venture a guess that it might be her fourth change lifetime.
Baby sis My Compliments shipped to the SC yesterday as well (I like to think they ended up on the same flight out of Cali) after an impressive G1 victory in Japan.
Fingers crossed for the SC! This is looking like my most exciting W16 in years and years.

Laura, this mare is truly something else. What a phenomenal animal. It’s been an honor running against her!

Re: Rogue
Thanks so much, everyone! It's been such an exciting, amazing, surprising ride... she's by far the best horse I've ever bred or trained. Can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store!
