Although he may seem like an old successful horse, who just raced long enough to win lots of races, he is more than that to me. Last night was the last race of his career, and it will be one of the sadest moments to retire him, but it unfortunatly has to be done. I picked him up right at the end of year 47, and have raced him since. Not only has he earned me wins and money, but he also is my favorite horse of all time. Its hard to believe how much you can really feel like you connect to a horse, but if I connect to one, he would be it. Although many might not have even heard his name, I feel like he is a legendary horse in his own right, and if we did that top 50 horses of all time again, I would have to say he would make it for me (little biased). I wrote this to finish off his great career with something to remember him by. Here are some of his achievements and placings!

Gecko:
Total Stats: 58: 33-8-7
All Time Winningest Horse: 33 Wins
3rd All Time Stakes Winning Horse: 27 Stakes Wins
5th All Time on the Points List: 1,119 Points
11th All Time Earnings (Dirt Milers): $3,097,700

Stakes:
G1:
Year 48: Desert Mile - Purse $2 Million
- Won by 3/4 of a Length
Year 51: Brooklyn Mile - Purse $300K
- Won by a gutwrenching nose!
- Last race of his career!
G2: 6 Grade 2 Wins
G3: 19 Grade 3 Wins

Although I'd like to be more specific about him, and look into his career further, I am not a great writer, and feel like I would never be able to do him justice. All I can say is he is a great horse, who I wish I could race forever!

P.S - Sorry for any mispelled words or sentences that don't look right, at the time of writing this I have a large bandage on my finger (hard to type), on Chirstmas I was peeling potatos when I accidentaly cut off the top of my ring finger! Its good now, but not easy to type!

One of my favorite SIM horses in history. SUCH a cool old guy!

He's a marvelous horse Randell! The kind you'd wish you could say you'd have seen race in real life.
May he enjoy his retirement.
