Fancy Shoes

Post by Keith Maidlow »

Even though he just finished second in the Desert World Cup, the $1.3 million he earned has made him my highest earning runner of all time. He is giving me a legitimate chance at winning some of the SIM's biggest and most prestigious races (i.e. The Louisville Derby). I love his heart, he is never backing up at the end of any race. He has become my ATM machine and hopefully will be for awhile.

He's such a fun horse. While his value at stud is too high to not retire SOMEDAY, if you got crazy I could see him being like Eastern Westside and just... never stopping.

Something we all strive for Keith, a 'franchise horse.' Many more fun times ahead with him.

Maybe the gelding was the cause for the boost in ability?

Unlikely? But just throwing that out there.

Gelding always helps, but it's a small, set amount every time, as far as I know -- though some geldings out there sure make you wonder!

Thanks! I'm just going to keep entering him in the best races and against the best horses the SIM has to offer for probably this year and next. I'd like another shot at the Desert World Cup, The Steward Cup Classic and the Pegasus Classic. He's been in 9 consecutive G1 races which I've never had another horse of mine do. I like him quite a bit!

See more we did! After a clunker last out that was all my fault, he won the Oceanside Classic against four other horse all at the top of this division. He came back with a personal best 99 SF and needed all that with SFs of 98, 97, 95 and 91 for the rest of the stellar field. Up to $4.1 million lifetime and $2.2 million for this year.

I'm a happy owner!
