Let It Go

Post by Mr. Lord Derby » 1 year ago

This mare that should be in the hall of fame as a broodmare was represented by her THIRD foal to win the Steward's Cup Juvenile Fillies tonight. Love her.

She is so pretty! I’ve tried so hard to get some of her uterus power into my barn 🤪

She's one of the best, Danny!

And I'm not just saying that because I have a "Let it go" tattoo...

She survived her breeding this year at 17 years old, and I'm so excited that she'll have another foal next year! I'd like everyone to meet her latest foal, Show Yourself

Steamboat Willie was her fourth winner of a Steward's Cup race. So from 14 foals to hit the track, over 25% have won Steward's Cups.

And now her second Louisville Derby winner. There's only been two other mares in history that have produced multiple Derby winners, and I believe no others in the modern SIM. Willie will get his own thread later, but just want to call out this amazing accomplishment from this amazing mare.

She surpassed $30M in progeny earnings with Steamboat Willie's win in the Midsummer Classic tonight. I can only think of a handful of other mares to reach that milestone, and I'd like to think there's still plenty of room to build on that!

After wins by Show Yourself and Steamboat Willie in Saudi races last night, Let It Go's progeny earnings now exceed an unbelievable $40M. I know no record lasts forever, but this one may stand for a very long time!
