Hozier Daddy
I don't usually make these types of threads, but this guy is special so why not start with him.
Hozier Daddy is my best attempt at breeding a nice TR horse to date in my career.
He is named after one of my Gf's fav singer/songwriter Hozier.
Thought the play on his name worked out nice.
I purchased Hozier Daddy's dam Forever With Me back in the year 49 Steward's auction. That was the most I had ever spent on a turf router, but being the last Shahir'ra, I had to go for it. I still remember the moment right when the auction ended. My heart almost beat right out of my chest. I remember Danny Derby messaged me right after the auction congratulating me and telling me she was going to be a generational mare in my barn. So far she has been a little hit and miss, but looks like she really took to Phenomenal One since both her freaks are by him.
To date I have sort of sheltered him throughout his career so this next race in Saudi is by far the biggest race of his career.
I was torn on sending him to the 250K G1 in Asia, but i can't protect this guy forever. He deserves a shot and now he is finally going to get it.
Good Luck to all week 4 in Saudi.

He looks like a beast for sure, good luck with him! Love his name too, I'm weak for wordplay.

He 100% falls into that “Best horse you’ve never heard of category” and I feel like he’s gonna have a big year or two!

Re: Hozier Daddy
It's Friday March 12th, 10:38am PST. I went by the barn this morning to see how my little horse army is doing this lovely Friday.
As I passed by Hozier Daddy's stall I gave him a little pet. He quickly responded to me:
'Hozier Daddy' says, 'If you are spending time petting me, does that mean you won't sell me?'
Awww what a cute lil guy!

Re: Hozier Daddy
I was making my normal rounds this Friday morning. As I walked by Hozier Daddy's stall he gave me a wink. Guess that's his way of letting me know he's ready for his big race tonight.
Hope he does well.

Re: Hozier Daddy
After finally getting his shot against some of the best horses in his division and getting trounced finishing last by over 2 lengths I decided to skip the Desert races and aim him for a G1 in Africa week 7. I hope he can rebound and get back to his winning ways.
I visited him today, gave him a quick pet. 'Hozier Daddy' says, 'You're my favorite owner!'
Looks like he is feeling a little better today.
