I've run that 5k either two or three times, and I'm signed up for it again for this year. It's a cool race!

Leslie and I will do our best to make it. It's all about finding someone to take care of the critters.

Put us down for 2 - strong possibility

This sounds like a much, much better idea now than it will the morning of.

Anyone can grind through a 5K (or at least walk it). A 10K is where the challenge really starts.

I did a half-marathon completely out of shape (5-foot-8, 190 pounds for anyone wondering) in 2 hours, 38 minutes three years ago. I did 90-second jog, 90-second walk intervals. The last two miles were brutal. I should start running regularly again (I was in good shape in 2009-10, when I dropped my 5K time from 30:58 to 24:50 in a year), but geez I'm too lazy.

(Lazy from a workout perspective anyway. I'll research and write War and Peace epics in my spare time, but putting 30 minutes into the treadmill is like asking me to do home improvement projects.)

Laura is spot on, when I wake up Saturday morning, the last thing I will want to do is run. But I have become a parkrun regular since last summer and once I stumbled upon this event I just had to enter, even though the party comes first, I will not get legless.
There are hundreds of UK park runs and about 12 a piece in Canada and the US.

That was just to torture me, right?

I don’t think a video feed is a good idea now. I don’t want to see all that lovely food.

Unfortunately I can only take off a certain number of days per quarter; the April-June one is already taken by my anniversary cruise and my niece's college graduation.

I will be there in spirit!
I'm just here for the fun of it

I'm flying in on Thursday morning and leaving on Monday morning. We will have to all try and get together Thursday night to eat. I suggest this place because their lobster grilled cheese is the best thing EVA! And they have great drink specials. ;)
