Steward-breds Rule Change

Post by The Steward »

Year 51 Steward-bred Rule Change
As of Year 51, Week 2, no one will be able to purchase/own more than three Steward-breds of any age group at any one time, until they reach 4 year olds and up.
For example, if you already have six two-year-olds, we won't take any away, but you won't be able to buy more off others. This rule will go into effect AFTER the currently open Trial By Summer Sale taking place Week 1, so if you already have three and want to add more before the rule goes into effect, you may. From Week 2 on, however, you will not be able to add more.

Syndicate Dispersals If you already own 3 Steward-breds of a certain age under 4, and you disperse your syndicate to yourself, you WILL NOT be able to buy the Steward-breds in your syndicate.

Yes, this will affect leasing to the Steward If you want to race horses for the Steward where she leased the mare from you and bred the foal, that counts towards your total of three. You may no longer wish to pursue this until you see how many horses you win in the annual auctions. If you still want to lease your mare to the Steward, please feel free to discuss with her what she wants the foal to be, and you breed it yourself, and money changes hands like normal instead of Steward breeding it.

The original rule change has been redacted and will not be implemented
REDACTED: Steward-breds will not be able to be sold to a different owner until they make at least one start beginning in Year 51. That means any and all pinhooking has to happen AFTER they race for the buyer once. If you want to sell any yearling or foal Steward-breds that you have, you should do it before the year turns over.

We understand players are trying to circumvent the new rule via partnerships and leasing. Two things to know:
1. The game is smart enough to know how many Steward-breds you "own", even if you've leased them out to other players. So leasing them out and trying to buy more wont work.
2. We know that players are planning on circumventing the rules by starting partnerships, buying yearlings, and then giving the yearlings to themselves in 2 years time. The game won't let you disperse your partnership horses to yourself if you already own three of that age, so the horses will automatically go to public auction. We reserve the right to update the rules over the next 40 weeks to make sure the rules of syndicates and Steward-breds are flowing the way we want them to for the good of the community.
