Maybe if we had full broodmare sire stats for all stallions and not just the ones that show up on the rankings…maybe…please? 👀

I did find some interesting things. For example, when looking at older (10YO and up) DM stallions, 4 stallions were exceptional (ratio below 4) based on the ratio of Stakes Producers Covered : Total Stakes Winners. Of course, DMB was on the list but he was only 2nd. My stallion, Army Mule, was 3rd. You may be able to guess #1 and #4 (based on your stallion usage) but I doubt if many others will be able to guess them without doing the calculations.

This is a wonderful update, thank you!

I just looked him up. His stud fee is only $10K, My excuse for missing him: I got tired and stopped at greater than $10K so I missed him. Based on this measure, he definitely is a top-notch DM stallion. Plus, his 2 SBs are both stakes winners.

I did also notice that Pete the Cat has a good ratio of 1.25 for Median $ Per Runner : Stud Fee from 78 runners. Note: most DM stallions that I looked at have a ratio below 1.

I think there is a wealth of data in the stud book. When coupled with the search function, one can make a highly informed decision on stallion selection. Of course, one needs to guard against "analysis paralysis".

Just had to put in my two cents here -- I love these updates. Not having to click through to the progeny tab when looking for claiming fillies is so nice :D Saving a click or two when browsing a whole day's worth of claiming races is actually the best.
