Just a small clarification on pinhooking - you can pinhook publicly a TBS purchase, and other players can make offers to buy your TBS purchase. From the Steward's page:

viewtopic.php?f=20&t=20574

For those who don't want to click on the link, it says:

What you CAN do:
-You can bid for someone else under their account if they are unable to be around for the end, and have given you their account information themselves. The Steward will not give out account information.
-You can buy a horse with the intention to pinhook it publicly on the sales page or in another auction or on the forum.
-After winning a horse, if you see a horse being pinhooked publicly, you may then buy it. You can also make offers on people's horses as per regular transaction guidelines.
-Although it is considered rude and unkind to your fellow players, you may drop any kind of bids you want, whether you may be "1king" someone or dropping several multi-million dollar bids the second the auction opens, thus making it impossible for others to get in under bids. Although it is allowed (because we can't stop it from happening with the system), keep in mind it will win you zero friends.

What you CAN'T do:
-You may NOT give money to another player to buy another horse for you in the sale. If you are found to be doing this, the horse will be taken away.
-You may NOT buy a horse with your own money, then immediately turn it around and give it to another player who has won a horse in the same auction as a "gift" or "repayment of debt" etc.

Just as an aside... in real life, pinhooking most commonly refers to buying a yearling at auction, in order to re-sale it for profit at a 2yo auction the following year.
