Silly Pioneer of the Nile Mare Question

Post by Keith Maidlow »

I'm not much of a breeder of SIM horses but in the latest Steward auction, what makes Pioneer 4, 7 and 13 worth twice as much as 11, 15 and 19??? Just curious.

Absolutely nothing, although as a point of interest. I did observe that some of those high bids appear to be dead money.
Pioneer 4
Pioneer 5
Pioneer 7
Pioneer 12
Pioneer 15
Pioneer 17

All hypo'd A-, the others are merely a B+. Yes, bored and curious, but it is what it is.

For what it's worth, as a new player with access to the "recommended" section of the auction pages, very few of the Pioneer of the Nile fillies show up there.

To be honest, these mares seem to have a certain quality I'm wanting to experiment with. Judging by nicks these are stars or maybe formids, which by itself wouldn't be worth that money.

Make sure you're hypoing the correct things

1/3 of the mares are dirt
1/3 of the mares are turf
1/3 of the mares are AW

Happy bidding.

The mare I'm interested in hypo'd "B+" to both a DR and AWR stud, and "B" to a TR stud.

I figured it out!!! The Steward has managed to hypnotized all of us through one of the SIM's many screens (maybe the trophy screen) and every time we see an auction that says "S..T..E..W..A..R..D" or a horse bred by the "S..T..E..W..A..R..D" we see "spend millions of $$$$$$$$..." Phew! Glad that's over, thought it was a much more complicated answer.

I have not made one bid, won’t be sniping anyone today.
Good luck with your investment :)
