Re: Silly Pioneer of the Nile Mare Question
I my regret it, but I'm actually glad I got outbid on those mares. I just wouldn't be able to figure out which has promise and for what.

Re: Silly Pioneer of the Nile Mare Question
You were able to Bloodstock all these mares during the auction so it wasn't a guessing game who the hens and stars were. lol

FYI: To all the winners, these mares were not pre-insured. Although I think they should have been. Just saying.

Nile After Nile is now insured!
She is a star mare so if Skippy is right then she is probably an AW mare.

Re: Silly Pioneer of the Nile Mare Question
I am not sure Skippy was right about his hypothesis, although it was logical. Pioneer Eight is a blue hen, and gives me an A- with D's Tapeta and Le Vent Se Leve. B+'s with James Dean and Hold Above and also B+'s with upper end turf routers. So I think she is AW and a blue hen.

By the way, I got some new eye drops today. So I tested their effectiveness by monitoring and making many +$1 bids over the last half hour or so of the auction. I had little idea about the relative merits of any of the mares so my bids were based on the patterns of the bidding (there were significantly fewer late bids than I expected). The good news is that my vision did not blur even when looking at a white background screen for 30+ minutes. Right now (hours after the auction completion), I am only experiencing a slight blurring in my vision without applying any new drops. So I am optimistic that cataract surgery will not be required this year.
