So does this proxy bid process improvement open the door for a possibility of a silent auction on one of the bid auctions in the future?
Say Pete V. really, I mean really likes a horse so he places a one time bold blind auction bid of SIM$ 19,000,000 on day three of the auction.
Unbeknownst to Pete V., Laura S. sort of likes the same horse based on her pedigree analysis and bids a silent max bid for her current balance of SIM$ 5,500,000.
Nalbone, has consulted his spreadsheet and determined that there is a high probability that this horse will be the next Cadeauje and bids SIM$ 15,000,000.
Izzy R. will be on vacation at auction end but this horse has caught her eye. On day one,she silently bids SIM$ 2,500,000 and 2 other modest bids on her next two choices for SIM$ 250,000 to max out the 'only bid on 3 horses' rule and goes to Aruba as planned.
R.B. is not interested and places her bids on her top three choices, one of whom is a time bomb dirt miler who is destined for greatness. Her silent max bids are all SIM$ 750,000.
Laura F. consults her massive SIM brain and bids big at the last second on this special horse (SIM$ $25,000,000) and 2 other back up fillies at SIM$ 11,000,000 each.
No one knows who bid what although the forum BUZZ is that this one horse if very special.
Mr. Private Player buzzes in, empties the bankroll on 2 horses, one of which is the only special one for him with a 'so super secret earth shattering bid' that it rocks So. Cal's quake monitor.
I. Xett. bids on 3 SIM horses the Friday night before the Saturday auction end not having researched anything: SIM$ 876,543, SIM$ 4,888,777 and SIM$ 41.

What happens next is exciting. The silent bold bid sticks. The just as good dirt miler goes to a good home. Izzy finally gets a Steward bred. Xett gets a useful type for SIM$ 41 that he races in Chaser races as an 11 year old, finally earning back the SIM$ 41. The Lauras get amazing somethings. RB gets a nice one and gifts him to a random stranger. Eric makes a note in the spreadsheet to bid the max number in the next auction. Mr. Private Player's winning silent bid horse stinks as a racer earning SIM$ 888,123 but he stands him anyway and makes a fortune by Year 60. Three horses of the 20 are not bid on . One goes to the Year 52 Simmy Award/New Player winner. One goes to a random new player. And the third goes to a random player who won a Year 52 Steward's Cup race. Surprise, surprise, surprises... jX
