Post by Carole Hanson »

I realise they're foals but curious if any have notes on them?

Especially curious about the one Danny Derby outbid me on in the last few seconds of the auction ;) :P

No note Carole if that's what your wondering :P. Will have to wait until next year for the gallops however! I paid more than twice as much for his sister last year, so I'm happy with him until then at least.

"I was afraid of Gigi, it was true." Oh yes. Be afraid. Be very afraid...
"Gigi, you continue to impress the heck out of me." - The Steward. Okay, it was 10 RL years ago, but I'm keeping it.

For once I was able to buy a stewardbred (my second one since joining).

I was bidding on every horse which had a low bidding, so I went home with this one:
Maybe something for the future? :)

Someone did try to snipe me at the end of this one, running up the bid 2 million more. That is why you have to bid high folks!

The auction was scheduled to end five minutes after my plane was supposed to take off (it ended up closing while we were taxiing down the runway), so I just placed one big bid because I knew I wouldn't be around, and figured either I'd get the horse, or make someone else spend a lot of money. Ended up with the former. We'll see how he gallops in a few weeks.

23 degrees and windy this morning in Kentucky for a cold three mile run, 77 and sunny in Cocoa Beach now. I'll take the change.

Of all the places that I have lived, my most enjoyable long (1+ hour) runs in January were in Florida. I even ran the 2000 Disney Half-Marathon (1:32:41).

I hope you brought your running shoes with you to Florida.

I got bubkis which cost me $0. It's interesting that $1.6 million won't get many opportunities to bid in the Steward's auctions. I really just made a few others pay more than they might have liked.
