One of my first best buys was a horse named Barbados, by Empire Maker. It was year 20 week 9 day 7. Eric had gelded Barbados the day before and I bought him (Barbados not Eric) for $10,000 as a four year old. Week 12 day 3 he wins a G3 1 1/8 mile turf race with a purse of $100k. Week 14 day 5 he wins a G2 1 1/2 mile turf race with a purse of $150k. He won another G3 at 1 1/2 mile and he even won a MS steeplechase race towards the end of his career. Banked over $250k with this guy.
