So, are the swain broodmares considered "steward breds" for the quota or "slot" limit purposes?

Just to add on for future reference, if they count for those slots, the 'breeder' will not be left blank on their page.

Also, retired steward breds never count towards the limit. For example, if you buy or lease a steward bred mare, you will not lose any slots. Same with a steward bred retired stallion or retired gelding.
