I have a set of twin QH sprinters that I just trained at 400 yards and they ran the 9th and 10th fastest training times for yearling QHs.
Nowhere in their lineage is there any middies.
I have been under the conception that you only wanted to run at the distance they are bred for.
Has anyone else had this happen?
Only reason I tried this is I accidently nominated Bayou Bigfoot for the Most American Futurity.
Double WOW I trained all 5 of my Firefox yearlings at 400 and they are 10, 11, 15, and 25 for training times and the productive of the bunch was .09 seconds from being in top 50.

Re: Very Confused?
This is a common occurrence in mixers across the board, but they will not be successful racing at the wrong distance even if their workout times suggest otherwise.

Re: Very Confused?
In my experience, most QH sprinters work 400 yards faster than QH mids. Not that many QH sprinters work 400 yards, though.

Re: Very Confused?
This phenomenon is a source of annual frustration for me with my sire stat tracking. I like to see who is siring the fastest workers. Works great for paint sprinters and turf milers, but is a complete wash for paint middle distance sires as no matter what workout distance I look at the list is almost all sprinters.
