What does "broke out" mean in the race comments.
I can't find this anywhere online.
Thanks

Re: Help with race terminology
Here’s my take on it but I don’t know if it’s right:
Broke out=broke to the right (opposite on right handed course)
Broke inwards=broke to the left (opposite on left hand course)
Basically meaning the horse didn’t break straight.

Re: Help with race terminology
Broke Right or Broke Left
As the horse left the starting gate, it immediately and radically veered away from (indicating “right”) or toward (indicating “left”) the inside rail.
I think, as Carole says, the Sim uses In and Out instead of Right and Left

Thank you Carol and Lori for your explanations.
I was just curious since I couldn't find it anywhere online
and wanted to know what it meant.
