Mixer Gallops
So how did people do?
I got the below numbers all from paints. First time since year 57 without a freak so that was obviously a little disappointing, but on the flip side close to 25% stakes/75% allowance+ is nothing to cry about.
Year 61
Stakes = 8 (23.5%)
Allowance = 17 (50%)
Productive = 8 (23.5%)
Solid = 1 (2.9%)
Total = 34
Stakes sprinters sired by: Angel Raphael, Ardyn, Colored Spotlights, Dark Night Dance, Regression
Stakes midders sired by: Jacinth (x2), Son of a Paint

Re: Mixer Gallops
Did anybody else get absolutely NO Standardbred freaks? They’re my main breed and I can’t remember the last time that’s happened. No freaks or stakes from my other breeds, either.
Re: Mixer Gallops
Only bred my Standardbred hens & only with A+ hypos. Got no Freaks; 1 Stakes; & 10 allowance with 12 others Productive on downErica Olson wrote: ↑2 years ago Did anybody else get absolutely NO Standardbred freaks? It's better to have it & not need it than to need it & not have it.

Re: Mixer Gallops
For the first time I had both a paint and an appy gallop freak as a yearling!
Help Me I'm a Spider, appy sprinter out of BG Spider Monkey and Help Me I'm On Fire.
Octavarium, a paint bred as a mid out of Thorngrip and Snom, but is versatile! She is named after a monster mid distance QH I had on trophyhorse over a decade ago, as I have always told myself I was going to give this name to a freak mixer mid distance filly!

Re: Mixer Gallops
I bred exactly 100 foals not at all by design, but that makes this SO easy, no calculator necessary!
Arabian (19 bred, 10 fillies, 9 colts):
1 Freak (Wait But Why)
1 Stakes (Yoboki)
9 Allowance
7 Productive
1 Solid
Most exciting is both the freak and the stakes are half to my top 2 current racing Arabians
Quarter Horse (3 bred, 2 fillies, 1 colt):
1 Freak (Blue Corazon)
2 Allowance
Paints (78 bred, 43 fillies, 35 colts):
2 Freak (Mark of the Beast x2)
14 Stakes (Mark of the Beast x5, Son of a Paint x4, Prequell x2, Soren x2, We Can Be Heros)
32 Allowance
25 Productive
5 Solid
Total (100 bred, 55 fillies, 45 colts):
4 Freaks (4%)
15 Stakes (15%)
43 Allowance (43%)
32 Productive (32%)
6 Solid (6%)
Think this is the first time I've had 0 claimers, yay!!
Overall I'm very pleased with this crop, lots of very nice looking yearlings, only 9 are peak so should have plenty of improvers as they age. Got a few very nice looking colts (I'm drooling looking at Ali's and Race to Survive's colts). I had a lot of my great racemares retire last season so excited to see how their foals do in the next few years

Re: Mixer Gallops
101 Trotter breedings and 44 pacer breedings and I got exactly 1 trot freak. 253 breedings total and that is my only freak. Lot's of A+/Blue Hen crosses produced nothing. The only saving grace, if there is one, out of 145 standardbreds, only 2 claimers.Erica Olson wrote: ↑2 years ago Did anybody else get absolutely NO Standardbred freaks? Re: Mixer Gallops
I breed all types of mixers and statistically all are pretty much in line (percentage wise with A+ nicks and the top stallions), except standardbreds. Then, even when you do get a freak they end up barely able to win a NW2.Brad Fabman wrote: ↑2 years ago101 Trotter breedings and 44 pacer breedings and I got exactly 1 trot freak. 253 breedings total and that is my only freak. Bred 6 Trotter mares:

Bred 29 Appy mares:
2 Stakes (DR) Sired by Bigg Lion and Words are Wind
1 Stakes (Miler) Sired by Eyes of Gold
6 Allowance
15 Productive (Ugh)
(5) Solids
No Claimers
Bred 9 Paint mares:
1 Allowance
The rest are Productive or less
2 Arabian mares:

17 Quarter Horse mares bred:
1 Freak (DM) - by Chrome Face Outlaw
1 Stakes (DR) - by Syncline

The rest - you know the drill.
I need to rethink these paints!
