Even though we are keeping the gallop comments next year, I've really begun to look at workout times more heavily to try to figure out who my "good" horses are. Just today, I ran my horses with no equipment at 6F (I figured I wanted them pretty fit before attempting). And I'm finding:
Solid avg time: 1:21:30
Claimer avg time: 1:21:19
Productive avg time: 1:21:21
Allowance avg time: 1:21:26
(Sample size of about 70 yearlings)
Anyone else playing with this? I question if NE is a good judge when I have one equipment piece for many of them. Any thoughts/flaws/etc in this process?
