Zonked Like Me- Asleep As I Am Once I thought it through and realized that zonked was sleeping it came together pretty quickly.Iggy Timeeczech wrote:Bill, excellent our first winner!!!!!!!!!!! Now explain how you got your answers.
Backtothebeginning- Wherethecircleends Looked for stakes winners where the words were all run together.
Television President- Bartlet West Wing was the first TV show I thought of. Bartlet was Martin Sheen's character.
Yellow Horse- Blackfoot Honestly this one was tripping me up. I think I had the other 4 answers in about 30 minutes, but this took me hours. The clue you gave help. After some internet research I found that Yellow Horse was Chief of the Blackfoot tribe.
Albino Jungle Queen- Wite Lioness This one was pretty self explanatory. King of the Jungle is a lion so Queen is lioness.

Formerly Scarlet, Now...
white as snow
Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD ...
"Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow"
Believing through Trials
Enduring faith (answered by someone else) but pretty self explanatory.
Living Word
Jesus is dead, but his word lives on in the bible.
With a word, they are still
= Wind and waves
Matt 8
Book of life was a book that peoples names were in.. went to heaven.
Peter was a apostle who got crucified upside down shortly after Jesus.
Iggy said the location was "beyond the earth", so that suggests heaven.
The original tip was BY, so beside, next to..
So at the gates outside of heaven..
At The Pearl Gates
It would have been easier if i remembered St Peter was at the gates earlier.
Thanks Iggy.

By Peter and the BookAnd behold,
there arose a great storm
on the sea,
and the waves*
into the boat,
so that
the boat was
being swamped
by the waves;*
but he was
asleep.*
And they went
and woke him,
saying,
"Save, Lord;
we are perishing."
And he awoke
and said to the sea,*
"Peace! Be still!"
And the wind ceased,
and there was a great calm.*
And he said to them,
"Why are you afraid,*
O men of little faith?"

At The Pearl Gates
It would have been easier if i remembered St Peter was at the gates earlier.
"The pearly gates" is an informal name for the gateway to the Heaven of Christian beliefs. It is inspired by the description of the New Jerusalem in Book of Revelation 21:21— The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate being made from a single pearl. The image of the gates in popular culture is a set of large, white or wrought-iron gates in the clouds, guarded by Saint Peter
Thanks Iggy.

Hurrah!
I'm going to say how and leave my answer as a check figure for somebody else to solve the puzzle.
Sad to say, it wasn't my light bulb that lit up -- it was Ronnie Dee's (guess he's on a creativity roll after writing the SimRacer program). First, it dawned on him that I was focusing on the wrong song (not Take It Easy). The right song was somewhat easier for him as he'd named one of the horses he's bred after the right song (starts with S). Perfect answer. That didn't seem to help much as we then had two whole right answers: that one and WaltzoftheFlowers. A few hours later, though, inspiration struck him again and looking at the two answers in light of the name of the set and your hint he figured out the key (wonderfully sneaky, Iggy!). We then only had to search through a limited number of possibilities.
Set 4 -- Still open for solving! (Since the total is known, once you've solved it, post the names of the five horses.)
