The Beagle and Clampett Best Named Horse Contest is on for this break.

Only one entry per person. Horse entered must be a foal, yearling or 2 year old THAT YOU CURRENTLY OWN and that has not been entered in any previous BNH Contest.

Reading the entries is a lot of the fun, so feel free to post any number of your brilliant names, but be sure to indicate which one is your actual entry. And, of course, any "supporting material" such as links, lineage, back story, etc. is always welcome.

Also welcome are any comments and postings.

Winners will be selected by polls. Apportionment of prizes will depend on the number of entries -- but...isn't the fame and glory of winning the greatest prize?

White On Black-He is a black colt with a huge white blaze (at least i imagine so). His sire Heirloom was black so i decided to have this guy black and i was hoping that he would get a white marking because his momma Whitesong was white. My older brother suggested the name to me once but i wanted to use it on the right horse because every horse my brother names (well at least in other games you know like gallop racer ad G1 Jockey) turns out to be a complete champ. So yea that's my entry BTW Just Victory looks just like how i would imagine White On Black

My entry for this contest is a dun yearling filly out of Dun Made Me Zip. I played around with the name a bit before deciding on one that sounded too cute for me not to put it in here. Dun Monkey Tup which is pronounced "dun mu(n)k it up" has a special place in my stable. I can't wait to start racing her Y31. Anyway, that is my entry.

However, here is another I enjoyed naming. Joansie is a black paint filly and named after my 5yo daughter's stuffed animal (it's a dalmatian). She tells a lot of stories about her adventures with Joansie, so I couldn't resist making this black and white filly named after the dog. I thought it was too cute.

I think my favorite is Alaska Bound. But others in the stable that make me chuckle are Ain't Broke, Mr. Squiggy (no idea where the name came from), Then What Happened, and last but not least Flufferball.

A few more refined names are Windinthewillows, Fridaynightlights, Promisenottospeak, Noteworthy and When Angels Fall.
