Return of the Beagle and Clampett Best Named Horse Contest!!

Post by Leonard Beagle »

Great news! The Beagle and Clampett Best Named Horse Contest is coming back! It's
been several, several seasons since we've run this contest, but it always seemed
to be a SIM favorite. Personally, the main reason I joined this game in the first
place, was because I always thought it would be cool to name my own horses. As
it turns out, I've lost sight of what brought me here in the first place. Now,
I'm amazed at the life-long friends I've made in the process. So as an ode to
what first brought me here, Jeb Clampett and I are bringing back this contest.

We were planning on running this anyway, but Jeb and The Steward made a deal with a
donation and GP's about the horse rescue (which will still be in effect whether or
not the rescue is effective) where the Steward provided GP's on the understanding
that the GPs would be spent on this contest. A fantastic gesture by both great
people.

As a result, this contest is starting with 100K GP's donated as a starting prize fund!
Plus I am providing $500K in SIMmoney.

This should be lots of fun!

Our first two thoughts are:

1) Entry gathering will go over 10 days. For every one of those days, 2 contestants
will be picked at random to receive 1K GPs. If you enter the first day, you'll have
10 chances, so get ready to enter as soon as the contest opens (will be soon)

2) The grand prize winner will win 30K GPs....that's a year of SIMperior.

It can only get better from here...and if you'd like to make this contest even more
awesome, additional donations would be great. More GPs, SIM$, mare leases, foals,
breedings would all be great. We'll use them to give as prizes both random and awards to add to the fun.

Contest will open real soon....stayed tuned for that announcement. We don't want entries yet,
but we do want more donations. We've had wonderful participation and donations in the past,
I'm hoping this one tops everything else we've been able to do.

Only one entry per person, but any horse that you own that has not won any prize in a
previous Best Named Horse is eligible to enter. When nominations do open, please explain how you came up
with the name. Jeb and I are both eligible to enter as well, but the voters (YOU) will and always will
decide the winners.

Donations are great! Entries are necessary! Think about who you want to enter. Contest starts very soon.

Thanks so much to all you wonderful people! Your interest is what makes this contest great!

I'll be opening the contest for entries starting this afternoon. Every 24 hours after that, there will be a random selection of 2 lucky people to win 1K GPs (may be more over time). You can win multiple times. After 10 days, the contest will be closed to entries and we'll go on to polls to determine the "best named horse(s)".

Only one entry per person. Make your selection and get ready to enter!
"Luck is my middle name," said Rincewind, indistinctly.
"Mind you, my first name is Bad."
