Beagle & Clampett BNHC Final Poll

Post by Jeb Clampett »

This is the final poll in the Beagle & Clampett Best Named Horse Contest. Please vote! You can vote for up to 2 entries and can change your vote at any time.

Below, I've copied peoples' comments on their entries. Please take the time to read over the comments. Additional posts from all are welcome!

Prizes:
(How we handle ties will depend on number and type of ties. Remaining GPs from donations not used for ties will be given out by random draw from everybody who entered.)

1st place: 30K GPs
2nd place: 15K GPs
3rd place: 8K GPs
4th place: 5K GPs
5th place: 4K GPs

---------------------------------------
This is my entry.

Bill Nye - Scientist x Dubacilla

Scientist needed a son named after one of the most beloved scientists of all time. I spent many mornings sitting and watching his show on TV, and many more mornings watching in on a TV in school.
---------------------------------------
I'll have to give the nod to:

Full Frontal (Streakin' Red x Hair Trigger - Fully Loaded)

Named in recognition of his Fully Loaded damsire and his Streakin' sire, I submit to you Full Frontal. A paint colt that is turning heads!
---------------------------------------
Mine Mine Mine

Mine Those Stars x Mine In Spirit

At first I just kept repeating Mine, Mine, Mine, Mine due to the sire and dam's names, then I realized *lightbulb* this little bit --which I think is the funniest part of Disney's "Finding Nemo"--- made perfect sense!

----------------------------
My entry is

Puddle Ballet
After It Rains x On Your Toes

Just like Swan Lake ... only shallower.
-------------------------------
They Did the Mash - Sea Monster x Hurry Up and Dance, I was bummed my first choice for this filly's name was taken, but I like this better since it makes you have to think.

And the Beagle and Clampett Best Named Horse Contest is almost over!

The winners of the final poll are officially:

1st place: 30K GPs - Emily White - Bill Nye - Scientist x Dubacilla
2nd place: 15K GPs - Kelley Wachter - Mine Mine Mine - Mine Those Stars x Mine In Spirit
3rd place: 8K GPs - Mary Whalen - They Did the Mash - Sea Monster x Hurry Up and Dance
4th place: 5K GPs - Jeb Clampett - Puddle Ballet - After It Rains x On Your Toes
5th place: 4K GPs - Tyler Simmons - Full Frontal - Streakin' Red x Hair Trigger

(again, your GP notification(s) may say it's for this or that, but it's not. It's just GPs to spend as you want.

Congratulations to all the winners...those were some awesome entries.

GP's are on there way.

And....it's not quite over yet. We only had one tie in the preliminary contest and none in the final poll...soooo. we have 12K GPs left that we stashed away to cover ties.

Leo will be winding up this BNHC and awarding the final GPs soon....stay tuned everyone!

And thanks to everyone who donated, entered and won!!!!! Great contest!

Less than a month ago, I received a message from Jeb. I had been very busy at work, and thinking about the upcoming meet at Oaklawn...and hadn't talked to her in too long a time. The message was quite simple....."Let's do our contest again!".

I hadn't realized how long it had been, as some players that it seems had been here forever, hadn't heard of it. Well, of course I was going to want to do this again. But truth be told, I didn't have to do much, as Jeb went above and beyond. She organized more than her fair share, and I feel guilty. So, I hope she knows how much I appreciate all her hard work!!

As for the participants, you are all the best. I do enjoy reading about clever names, meaningful names, funny names!
And as Jeb stated, we do have 12k in Game Points leftover, and we have NOT talked about how to dole it out.
Here is my thought...I'd like the 5 winners (Emily, Kelley, Mary, Jeb, and Tyler) to send me a message and let me know out of ALL the entries their favorite nomination. Taking into consideration their input, I'll find 3 worthy entries to send 4k in Game Points to.
Obviously, don't nominate your OWN entry! :)

SIMmoney to be shipped out soon as well!

Again, thank you to Jeb, and to all the great participants of this contest!!!

Without a doubt, 3 horses were the most talked about in talking with other players.
I've sent out 5,000 in Game Points to each of the following players:
Rebecca Cass - The Ramen Monster
Pingwyne - Nikki Everdeen
Puddle Ballet - Jeb Clampett

Congrats to everyone who participated, it was great fun as usual. Look for it again in a few
seasons, maybe. :)
