Sim break competition: Name this yearling, win prizes.

Post by Michael Edwards »

Simple competition that will help me out.

I have named a foal that I really like but have been told his name just wont cut it. So here is a chance to have a little fun in the break and win some prizes.

Step 1: Post on here suggestion for a new name for this horse.
Enter as many times as you like. You are eligable for mutliple prizes if you have more than one name make the poll.

Step 2:After one week I will put up a Poll with the best names (decided by me or someone with better taste than I).
The simsters that suggested the names on the Poll will win the choice of a breeding from any of my stallions (Can be used beyong year 35 if prefered) or 10,000 Game points.

Step 3: Vote in the poll, post on here when you vote.

Step 4: All who post on here that they have voted will be in the draw to win a simage or 30,000 Game Points to do as you please. Winner will be randomly drawn after the first results of year 35.

Thanks and good Luck.

Quenacho (is an Andean Flute)
Quanaco (is a close relative to the Alpaca and Llama and runs wild in the Andes. The wool is very rare and can cost up to $2,000.00 per ounce) Which would mean a pair of socks would cost a small fortune!)

In trying to associate both the sire and dam's name in with the name.

Alpaca's are associated with mountains
Adjust the Tune by Adjust The Sound

One needs to be quiet/careful in mountain passes where there is a risks of avalanches
So, I'm suggesting the name:

Avalanche Pass

I think too, it could be looked at in another way too. Not just as a mountain pass name...but in a descriptive of how fast a horse can move past another horse....an avalanche pass...vroommm..... :D

I hope people will show some ethics while reading this thread and not take any of the names listed for their own horses until after this contest has ended - there are some really nice names being listed that could work with a number of other pedigrees and dam/sire names.

Spit on You (Alpacas spit at people/other animals when feeling threatened!)
Spit Take (same meaning as one above)
Spit Sword (lol, I had too)
Carry Your Load (Alpacas carry things...)
Adjust the Fuzz (Adjust the Tune.. and Alpacas are fuzzy)
Wool (Alpaca wool is used for a variety of things, and I just like the name wool.)
Beast of Burden (I really like this one.. Alpacas are not bred to be Beasts of Burden, but they have been used for this. Name is already taken, but I'm sure the Steward will clear it for you.)

I'll think of more names later!

Some really great names so far! I probably give the worst names in the SIM so this is a big help. Thanks everybody, keep them coming!

As Stormy pointed out there are a lot of great names on here, I will only use one of these names.
Please refrain from using the names suggested until I get the poll up. I cant reserve every name but I will reserve the names that make the poll. If you would like to use a name you suggest that I reserved, (but didnt end up using) I will see if I can release it somehow.

I can't stop you but if you do use names on this post before the poll, SIM KARMA WILL GET YOU!
