It seems to me it wasn't that long ago that I recognized most of the silks, so I am amazed at the many I've never seen! This is good, because we have so many newer players that are willing to help support the game by buying silks. Great idea Dan and best of luck to all nominees!

Friedrich Barbarossa
Leo Beagle
Danny Derby

We're up over 100 nominees! Current plan is to do a 128-silks bracket with eight "regions" of 16 silks. If we don't get a full 128, there will be a handful of first-round byes which is no big deal. Obviously more than two whole days left before nominations close.

Don't be afraid to nominate silks already on the list, it helps with seedings!

Ali, I've admired your silks for a long time. I started this thread back in 2012 and had your silks listed as some of my favorites even back then. They are pretty silks, and for me also make me think of the love story part of Braveheart, where he held onto his wive's bit of cloth with the thistle design to the very end.

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=25073&p=255288&hilit=silks#p255288

Sadly, some of the players listed are no long in the game. Still, I found it interesting going back and re-reading how some players came by their silks designs.

I'm also a little sad that I forgot to add Kenzie Larkin onto my list of 10. Her silks on the thumbnail... I somehow passed by it when looking at all the silks on the owners list....but in a larger view, her silks are very pretty... a horse fading off into flame. I hope someone with votes left will find her silks worth of a vote. I already used up all my votes and see she's not on the list on nominees. There are a lot more silks out there too, since 2012 and so that made choosing 10 pretty hard too.

I'll nominate Kenzie Larkin then, I'm a bit bias towards purple & black silks and her's are way better than mine! :)

One of my faves was Sarra Ullman's silks. It doesn't look like that much at first until you click on the larger version and see that it is a stylized fox and THEN it really caught my eye!

Hmm. I think that Danny Derby has the worst silks in the SIM. I don't mean that in a bad way - kinda like we have Ugly Tie Friday in my office here - you want to win!

Now could I be saying this subconsciously because Danny beats me in every big race (Be Prepared, Broadchurch and others)? Nah. Well, you'd have to drill into my brain to be sure........mutters, I'd like to to wipe that smile right off his silks........
