My guess it's a return to one gallop giving you the gallop comment. Used to be a hugely anticipated day for everyone to see how their yearlings turn out.
‹Ali Hedgestone› Oh you get addicted to the crack after a while.
This spot reserved for my super-amazing TR stallion come Year 136.

It was a lot of fun, in my eyes. Kind of like Christmas Eve when you were a small child. The anticipation! The glee! The disappointments! The wailing! The teeth gnashing! I missed it when it went away....

Plus it gave everyone an excuse to wrestle and show other feats of strengths. :P

Kinda like musical chairs?

Without the music?

Or the chairs?

I understand completely?

Ok, imagine you have fake horses and you can race them.
Then take that a step further and imagine you challenge another member to a feat of strength contest....lol...

Since I was the one who started the referring to the initial gallops as "Festivus" - I will explain

It refers to a Seinfeld episode - George's father would bring out the "Festivus Pole" and explain to George all the ways he had disappointed him in the prior year - very much like how our carefully planned, hypomated, researched yearlings often gallop in ways that disappoint us.
I'm just here for the fun of it

Still sounds like something one should be inoculated against (Festivus)?
