My guess it's a return to one gallop giving you the gallop comment. Used to be a hugely anticipated day for everyone to see how their yearlings turn out.

It was a lot of fun, in my eyes. Kind of like Christmas Eve when you were a small child. The anticipation! The glee! The disappointments! The wailing! The teeth gnashing! I missed it when it went away....

Since I was the one who started the referring to the initial gallops as "Festivus" - I will explain
It refers to a Seinfeld episode - George's father would bring out the "Festivus Pole" and explain to George all the ways he had disappointed him in the prior year - very much like how our carefully planned, hypomated, researched yearlings often gallop in ways that disappoint us.
