Updated through all of Week 7. Quite a battle going between Jack and Durzo.

Nobody had the G1 South African Cup winner — Dancin Thru Fire, an 8-year-old who has now won two straight G1s and is having his best season in at least five years, if ever.

Updated through Week 8 Friday's late races. Stranger Crusaders' victory in the G1 Melbourne Derby helped Durzo close within 10 points of Jack at the top of the standings.

I got a G1 victory out of Shadowsofyourlove (South African Fillies Trophy) and jumped all the way up to fifth. Not bad for six post-draft picks. (Reminder, I'm not eligible for awards.)

I went from 8th to tied for 11th, I’m only 150 points behind the leader...it’s fine 🤣

Updated through Week 9 Monday (plus an NW3 Tuesday morning). When there are ties — as in the third-place dead heat between Roughian and Adiyodi in the Carlos Pellegrini — I award both horses the same number of points as they would have won had they earned the place alone (so in this case, 40 points for both, because it was a double-points Grade 1).

I have been doing a Grade 1 winners list this year for TR and since we are mid way through the year, I thought I would share the top horses/people in each category so far (not including any week 9 races yet).

Horses
Longbird-2
Dancing Thru Fire-2
Museum Victories-2
(There are 33 individual Grade 1 winners so far this year, with only 3 achieving more than one victory at the top level)

Owners
Nena Olson-3
Leigh Ann Anderson-3
Cleo Patra-3
Laura Ferguson-3
(5 owners are on 2 Grade 1 wins each, and there are 13 owners with 1 Grade 1 win. The total number is 23 individual owners)

Breeders
The Steward-11
Nena Olson-3
Leigh Ann Anderson-3
(No surprise that The Steward takes the top spot by some margin, but 2 other breeders have bred 2 Grade 1 winners, and 14 other breeders feature on the list. In total that's 20 different breeders)

Sires
Le Vent Se Leve-3
Loveless-3
Summerland-3
Nightmarch-3
(6 more sires have 2 Grade 1 wins, and 11 sires are represented by 1 Grade 1 winner thus far. There are 22 sires on the list thus far)

Broodmare Sires
Two Toned-5
Sidney-5
Itoko-4
(This list is looking very similar to last years, those 3 sires constantly topping the rankings. One broodmare sire has 3 Grade 1 wins, whilst 3 more have 2. 12 Other broodmare sires feature on the list with 1 Grade 1 win, the total number of sire on this list is 20)

Updated through Week 9. Durzo Blint reestablished himself at the top of the standings, and Andrew Davidson made a move up the charts with a pair of Grade 1 victories. Meanwhile, I scored zero points and a bunch of people waved as they passed me.

Please double-check my work ... I have this hazy feeling like I screwed something up.

As of right now, I have the best 4th round and 6th round picks, but I'm 10th in points because my #1 pick has not been doing well and my #5 pick hasn't scored a point.
