Fun With Early Season Stats

Post by Eric Hamme »

Two racing days into the year, I'm currently sitting on an 81.8% OTB rate. That's currently the third best in the entire SIM. To say that's unsustainable is a gross understatement.

All I can say to that is all hail Small Sample Size! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dw9qqvm-LT8

Does anyone else have some small sample size wackiness so far?

After the first set of results last season I had a 100% win stat. Just about stopped there. LOL
This season hasn't started off as successfully.

You can do it Eric, I believe in you!

That Jack Armstrong example is a great one.. went 4-8 the rest of the season and a combined 22-46 the rest of his career.

My early seasons usually run the other way like this year, 6:0-3-1 and peanuts for earnings. Week one for me is usually cheap 2 year old sprinters and older runners who weren't good enough to run in week 16's bigger races. I tend to finish the year with +20% wins, +60% OTB and, my goal, of $10,000 earnings per start (last year it was over $20,000 per start). That and a few G1 victories keeps me going.

Finally did some racing today:

3: 2-1-0 66.6% Win 100% OTB

Let's see how long I can keep this going (probably 9 or so hours  )
