Croonchy Stars -- All her babies are named after cereals. Croonchy Stars was a Swedish Chef-themed cereal apparently around in the early 90s. The commercials, which are all on youtube, are hilarious.
Dark of Ages Past -- Les Miz reference.
Fight the Blerch -- this.
Remouillage -- "Remouillage" refers to when, after you make a veal stock, you drain it off and put fresh water over the bones to "re-boil" them and get all the goodness out. This family has all had restaurant/food themed names for two generations now.
To'hajiilee -- Breaking Bad reference. Also a scary.

Betta Be Quick, http://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=442852,
named her after a friends TB we used to jump on him and pretend to be a jockey when we were kids
my friend died last week from brain cancer so this name is even more special to me now,

As a New Player, I'm finding naming horses to be both a bit difficult (occasionally, to find something which fits) and also a LOT of fun.

Some of my favorites, so far:

Celestial Sailor (Ode to the Skies + Admiral Miss)

Gnostic (Believe + Knowledge)

Gina Lollo (Silver Screen Star + Hello Gorgeous)

Gone Viral (World Wide Fame + The Internet)

Myocardium Nitro (A.P. Sidewinder + Nitro Nurse)

Ef N S (Eohippus + Fleet N Sunny)

The latter (taken from the first letter of each word in sire and dam name) was intended to be elegant, as in effervesce.... I only later realized that it might take on another meaning if he doesn't run too well.

I'm a lover of puns so I bought an allowance level Standardbred 2-year-old and I mis read the fathers name Pulau Hawaii as Palau Hawaii, so I decided to name the horse Palau This Field as a pun off that. Even after I read the name a second time I knew the pun was to good to give up.

Lol, amazed at that you found this 6 year old thread! Since you've brought it back to life, I'll add to it with my favorite 2 year old name. : ) It has a few puns linked with the name:

A filly -- Dirty Harry x Mae West

A Dangerous Pair

Dirty Harry, the character, had a large pair...
And Mae West's pair were so 'much' that they even named a WWII inflatable front, life preserver after her.
And each character in the movies were considered dangerous in their own ways...Dirty Harry as a tough cop and Mae West as a smart tongue vixen who got her own way.

Unfortunately, she's a claimer, Loves Mud, I have figured her equipment though. It's going to be hard to find wet tracks...seems like the Sims having a drought this year too...and it's hard to make money in the trotter division, even with an allowance type. Hopefully though, things will come together and she'll make me some money before she's taken off the track.

Seriously did a double take at this thread, haha. I was all like wow how is there a three page thread about favourite names in the last twelve hours. and then I was like... Ara? Matty Dubs? What year is this and then I actually looked.

When I moved back east earlier this year I a) had very little time to name yearlings and b) wanted to remember the west. So, besides a handful of babies that were already named, I named all 150ish of them after places in BC (and to a lesser extent, Yukon and Alberta.) I'm proud to say that I've actually been to 90% of those places (best road trip ever) but am unfortunately actually running out of names even for places I haven't physically been to...
