Had a few wins from unlikely sources, including TOP GEAR winning for the second time in three starts and DANCE A MINUET doing the same. These are two J Slotman originals who I'm glad to see perform in their old age. Lots of WPS this week and only one really disappointing showing by one of my Nalbone-breds.

Oh, and DOWNPOUR won yet again. Ho hum.

Grass Hopper won in Hawaii. Just exciting because it is Hawaii. Uhh...I do not know what else. I am just very excited!!!

My week was average but as far as Breeder's Rewards go, I raked in. So much love to everyone who owns a Banner-bred that won or placed this week :)
At Stud:

Yamikishi - Winner of multiple stakes, including Steward's Cup Sprint. Sire of stakes winning sprinters, like Heroism. Stands for $10,000.

I had an amazing, brings-tears-to-my-eyes week.

I usually don't do a full run-down, but I am this week, going from maidens to graded stakes:

Sprout Wings, one of my CAH's from the new Indian stallions, won well in his first outing in Puerto Rico. He got his name from Trevor Denman, who likes to say "You're gonna have to sprout wings if you want to catch me!" Turns out it just might be true!

Just The Start is another of my Indian CAH's, by Classic Foundation. I got the name from the Death Cab for Cutie song "For What Reason" - for some reason, when I said "Classic Foundation" in my head, the lyrics popped into my head: "This won't be the last you hear from me - it's just the start." She won first out as well...it's just the start!

Triomphe is royally bred (half sister to my big filly which you'll read more about at the end of this post!), but last week I was offering her to Bri and Ara for $1mil. She hadn't done anything on the track for me, and Bri gave me hope by saying maybe she was just going to mature later. She finally won this week!!!

Badtz' Star I bought off the sales page because he's one of the few offspring of Badtz Maru, one of my stakes winning sprinters from a LONG time ago. And now he's won multiple steeplechase races for me!!

Solitary I bought off the sales page because he had been strong competition for some of my steeplechase horses, and he won the Aintree Hurdle for me today!

Take Notice is out of one of my favorite mares that I ever bred, so when I saw him for sale I had to buy him. Since then, he's become a G1-winning steeplechaser for me, and this week he won the Melling Chase!!

Love Never Fails never disappoints me. She lost her first lifetime start, but hasn't lost since. This week it was the G2 Grande Premio Henrique Possolo in Brazil. She has been so much more than I ever expected!!

And finally, the big girl...

Is Wanting Enough, now 8-for-8 lifetime, took the VRC Oaks over the strong competition from Laura Ferguson's Have Faith. I was sweating bullets over this one, and I literally did a dance when I saw this win come up. This filly, pixels though she may be, brings me happiness and has ever since she was born. Go back and listen to the SIMcast of me, Ali, and Susie - I've been touting this filly from the beginning. I'm SO THRILLED she's lived up to every one of my hopes and dreams!

Okay, I sincerely apologize, but I really had a week worth celebrating after a few very dismal weeks, so I'm quaking with excitement. :D

Highlights:

Chesapeake Magic second in a race that was too short for him.

Faith Rewarded also second. Hrm. Need to think about this filly some.

Gospel Truth stumbled, but still came up to run second in his steeplechase.

Hermes broke his steeplechase maiden in good, driving style. Yay!

Karaoke came third. Not bad.

Midnight Chaos won a turf allowance in Barbados nicely, really pleased with that race.

Obelisk has had placeitis his entire career. He finally won. VERY pleased.

Stucco, a promising two-year-old, won an allowance. Might look for a lower level stakes for him...he is half to stakes winner Drawinginthesand.

T M Modest O came second, which is good for her.

U S S Constitution has disappointed so far. She did come third, but...meh.

But the highlight of my day was not a horse I own.

Pentagon *won the Epsom Derby*. As a result of this, I have raised Le Dauphin Noir's stud fee significantly. It's now 15k, which is still a total bargain for this horse. Now if *my* babies by him would win stuff. I'm coming to the conclusion I just don't have mares that fit him...

10: 3-1-1

A very promising week, overall! :D

Swank, a new CAH, won a five furlong maiden first out in a good time.

Eva Tea, a homebred who had done absolutely nothing in two starts, really like the drop in company and the added lasix to come up with a win.

Fallsway, a 4YO gelding homebred, is a bit of bittersweet moment this week. He won, going a mile (go figure, I have been thinking pure sprint for this dam...) in a claimer, but was claimed. He was my first homebred winner though, so some attachement issues, you know. I hope he does well for his new owner--good luck!

Advantage, a nice sales page purchase from Daryl Singhi, finished an OK second in an allowance.

By Your Leave, another CAH, finished a good third in his first start. I'll tweak the equipment a little bit and see if he can't improve his placing.

The only real disappointment came from Phantom Flames, who after an incredibly consistant career on the flat (including a stakes win and many, many stakes placings) and a good win over the hurdles to close out last year, has not since managed to hit the board.

Considering it was mostly babies this time around, I was really pleased with the results, as I expected much less. :D

17:2-5-2. Not the greatest week I've ever had, but I was debuting a lot of 2yos so a few bombs were expected. ;) There were of course still highlights, namely Ruling the World getting his third win in a NW3 so now it's on to open allowance company for him.

2yos Armani and Darker Side both came in second in their stakes, beating some nice horses, so I'm pleased with that.

Next week I've got 6 horses running, 5 in maidens, so I'm not expecting much percentage wise then either.
Frayed - $75,000
Liveinthemoment - $25,000
Same - $10,000
It's Been Awhile - $10,000
Grindelwald - $10,000
Skywatching - $7,500

I had an awesome week! I entered 4 horses (all maidens) in three races and had 3 winners and 1 third. (I ran a 2-horse entry in the Canadian Storm Stakes). For each of the four horses, this was their first start in my barn.

The highlight was my entry finishing first and third in the Canadian Storm Stakes. Super Jeblar won and Dog finished third. Super Jeblar was making his first start and Dog was making only his second start. Matt Wilson's Reality finished second. Reality was also making his first start and is Super Jeblar's half-brother.

I had the best week ever stats wise. In terms of money I was way off last week tho.
Anyway I went 13: 5-2-4 with 2 4ths

1sts:

Writeyourownepic won her 2nd race for me. From a beautiful family, she will be an awesome broodmare when she retires at the end of the year. Won a NW2.

English Circle is a beautifully bred mare I got off the sale page for cheap. She stumbled her start and still won her first start for me by a length.

Specialkindoflove, a horse I just claimed for 10K, won his second race in a row. He beat Way Down South by a length

Secret Forest and Behindthesmile both won Maiden claimers and both weren't claimed.

Others:
Flicker, my favourite horse, ran 2nd in an allowance race to Verdi. I'm so proud of him, especially since he's been running in claimers. His dam's a millionaire in the SIM- Whirl Charmant. That's cool.

Aldemizette, Sociable and Just Like Heaven all ran placings again. I just want one win out of each of them before they retire.

Eight Second Ride ran a much improved 4th when he got to a mile. Year 20 Belmont stakes?

Well hope everyone had a great week

Wait when did that happen?
You're not getting a dead button...in fits of rage, John Slotman and Ara Davies and Jolene Danner would literally kill half their barns.

In the chat! It was pretty much just you, me, and Bri talking and I offered her openly to the chat for $1 million...
